Automated Separation Device (Solid-Liquid Separation)

June 3, 2026

The ETC is seeking companies to develop automated solutions for solid-liquid separation that complement and enhance existing solubility workflows, improving robustness and reliability. The proposed device should be modular and integrate with existing laboratory automation platforms.

Current approaches to solid-liquid separation in high-throughput pharmaceutical workflows present significant challenges, particularly regarding sample integrity, evaporation, and compatibility with a range of solvents and sample types. The ideal device will deliver modular automated, single-workstream solid-liquid separation with minimal user intervention, robust compatibility with LC and XRPD, and seamless integration into existing high-throughput laboratory environments, without requiring substantial custom hardware development, ensuring reliable performance across diverse sample types, precise environmental control, and flexible software connectivity.
